QUESTION? IS HALAL MEAT ON YOUR CHILDS SCHOOL MENU?

From a report by R&M from The Billesley Patriot Blog.

This is a question all parents need to ask themselves? It is quite possible that it is and you don't even know it and the school aren't telling you (this decision is usually a financial one). Halal is a vile, barbaric process (better known as ritual slaughter...as mentioned in a previous post on The Billesley Patriot about 'halal pizzas') We could have included graphic pictures, but assure you most people could live without seeing them, even in black and white! There are parents up and down this country starting to ask this question more frequently and saying 'NO' to their children eating Halal school meals. This is Shariah Law alive and kicking in the schools of Great Britain; even in schools where less than 5% of the population are Muslim, schools are routinely giving ALL children Halal meat for convenience, to save money and to be politically correct. The British Navy ONLY serves Halal meat despite the fact that only a tiny percentage of its personnel are muslims. A lot of schools are of the attitude of what parents don't know won't hurt them or 'most parents are too stupid to even know what Halal is' (quote from a Deputy Head of a Birmingham school.)

The time has come for the parents of white, Christian, British children to start asking questions and saying NO to Halal, NO to visiting mosques, NO to celebrating alien faiths and cultures
and

YES to humanely killed meat, YES to visits to churches and cathedrals and YES to celebrating Christian/English/British culture, history, traditions and values. Speak to your child's teacher or head teacher, ask awkward questions, stick up for the rights of your children, and if they are being served Halal meat say NO.
(How long before your child comes home with a HAPPY EID card?)

KINGS NORTON WARD MEETING 16/09/09

Only one councillor present at the start!! Margaret Sutton.
Cllr Geoff sutton was 'indisposed' due to an accident, and Cllr Barbara Wood was late by about 30 minutes or so - (she only lives about 1/2 a mile away)!!

Only the meeting agenda's were freely available.
There was only one copy of the full agenda / notes / minutes etc, that had to be handed around person to person. This was quoted by Cllr Sutton as being the result of COST CUTTING!

The policing issues section had to be 'missed', as there was no one available to represent the police! The Inspector who should have attended this meeting was not available (for the second meeting in a row!) supposedly due to working a conflicting shift.

Russell Knight from the BCC housing dep't, explained a little further about the progress of the 3 estates regeneration programme, and then took a few questions from the floor. Most of which were given very 'general' answers indeed!
It seems that most of the questions the residents need answers to, are in fact all there, burried within the depths of the new BCC website, along with several downloadable pdf documents. It is a crying shame that residents are not kept informed as a matter of course, and that they have to seek out information for themselves.

The housing dep't have now initiated a new offensive on tennants who continually ignore the state of their gardens, and property in general. It seems that if any complaints are made regarding 'eyesore properties', the property concerned is visited and photographed, and the tennant then has to have a face to face meeting with a housing officer.
This is a good step forward - it's just a shame that it comes several years too late!!

The only other questions made from the floor were concerning such earth shattering matters as -
A vandalised bus shelter.
A streetlight that was not working.
A brook which needs cleaning out.

The meeting closed about 2010, despite only starting about 50 minutes earlier at 1920.

3 Estates Information

Please see link below for 3 Estates website.

HERE

Just remember that, whatever happens, the funding will be withdrawn as of 31st March 2010.

Who knows what will happen to any outstanding projects after that date?

And what will happen to any 'owner occupiers' who decline the 'New Deals' offer to purchase their property (with NO help available whatsoever for ANY costs (ie - conveyencing etc)), which must be completed by said date?

And, as a footnote:
One letter has been sent out to residents from Councillor John Lines.
Our 3 Councillors (Geoff Sutton, Margaret Sutton, and Barbara Wood (all Conservatives)), so far, seem to have ignored us all! Their silence is deafening!

Three Estates Regeneration - The Next Step?

There is a lot of concern locally regarding the proposed "regeneration" of the three estates (Hawkseley, Primrose, and Pool Farm).
The goalposts appear to have been moved, and now the area intended for demolition etc has been extended quite a bit from what was previously publicised!

Thers are 3 "consultation sessions" taking place this week, where the residents have an opportunity to express their opinions on the draft Planning Framework.

Wednesday 9th September - Common Room, Campion and Saffron Houses.
Thursday 10th September - Greaves Hall, Primrose Hill.
Friday 11th September - Hawkesley Community Centre.

All open from 1500 to 2000.

All residents affected should do their best to attend at least one session.
Your voice won't be heard if you're not there to 'exercise' it!

LOCAL NEWS, Northfield, Weoley & Longbridge by Brummieenoch

For anyone who uses the new road/traffic lights in Northfield,Birmingham

Contact has been made with the local Councillors{Tory} for an explanation regarding increased Traffic problems in Northfield and the ongoing problems with the traffic light system on the corner of Frankley Beeches road and Bristol Road South. Since the New road has been in operation the traffic through Northfield has been reduced, but the traffic light system is becoming a worry which could result in a severe accident. But due to the regeneration of Northfield {long over due}we now have an Aldi supermarket with spaces for around 70 cars, guess what? This has now bought traffic back onto the street of Northfield. Also the Bournville college is to be relocated in the Longbridge area{date, unsure}. I await the reply from the councillors{Tory}. In the past contact was made with the Labour M.P for Northfield but alas he was found to be lacking in, shall we say enthusiasm.
